I would like to play into the d8 and have it sent to the computer. I looked on ehow and it says that it is possible to do so but not how I would go about doing so.

Sorry, I'm not understanding at all what you are talking about. The MIDI capabilities on the D8 are for syncing a D8 and an external sequencer (that could be a sequencer on a computer)---it's just for sync. It is not for data transfer. Can you explain in detail what you are saying?

Don'tthinkonit...can I call you "Onit" for short?

Do you mean can you use the D8 as a midi interface? For instance..My recording interface is a Steinberg MR816 and has no midi function. So...I record my midi data through a midi interface called a "MidiSport"..midi in...USB out....to my DAW.

I did a quick search and if this is what you're hoping for...I don't think so. You'll need a stand alone midi interface like the midisport..or aDAW interface with built in midi capability.
